Senior Leaders
Sameer Sain
Sameer Sain is the co-founder and CEO of Everstone . He is Based in Singapore. Sameer is actively involved in managing the firm and overseeing the business in each location, dividing his time between all the Everstone offices across multiple regions. Before Everstone, Sameer spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director in the Investment Management Division and held the position of Head of Institutional Wealth Management and the Special Investments Group (International). Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, he spent eight years managing public market portfolios for Goldman Sachs clients, investing globally across multiple asset classes. Sameer holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.
Atul Kapur
Atul Kapur is co-founder of and CIO of Everstone. Based in Singapore, he divides his time between all the Everstone offices to successfully oversee investments in each location. Before Everstone, Atul spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Managing Director in the Principal Strategies Group, based out of London. Prior to this, Atul worked in the Principal Investment Area group of Goldman Sachs in both Asia and Europe, deploying the Goldman Sachs Capital Partners family of funds. Atul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Alok Oberoi
Alok Oberoi is the Executive Chairman and has transitioned from a non-executive to a full-time leadership role at Everstone. He has been a shareholder of Everstone and is an active member of its various Investment Committees. Alok spent over 14 years at Goldman Sachs where he was named as a General Partner in 1996 and was the Co-Founder and Chairman of ACPI. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
Sujoy Bose
Sujoy Bose is the CEO – Investment Management, spearheading capital formation, deal sourcing, fund governance, and ESG & impact initiatives. He manages capital raising efforts, strengthening relationships with Limited Partners (LPs), and enhancing the firm’s deal flow across various sectors. Sujoy brings to the firm over 30 years of experience in fund management, infrastructure investment, and strategic leadership. He previously led India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) as Managing Director and CEO, overseeing its growth into a leading investment and infrastructure management entity in just seven years. Prior to NIIF, he spent 23 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he held pivotal roles such as Global Co-Head of Infrastructure and Natural Resources and Chief Investment Officer of IFC Asset Management. Sujoy started his career with Citibank in India. He holds an MBA from Rice University, Houston, and a B.Com from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
Avnish Mehra
Avnish Mehra is Vice Chairman, Private Equity, of Everstone Capital, the private equity business of Everstone Group, which manages c. USD 7 billion of capital. He is also responsible for leading investments in the global technology, media and telecom sectors and overseeing cross border private equity investments. Avnish is a member of the Investment Committee of Everstone Capital.
Prior to Everstone, he played a leading role as Senior Director, in establishing the India business for Advent International, before which he was with Advent in Europe in the technology and media team. Avnish has also worked with leading firms in Asia and Europe, including HSBC, CIBC, ABN and Virgin Media. Avnish holds a Bachelor of Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, with a Master of Economics from Cambridge. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder from the CFA Institute in the USA.
Avnish is actively engaged on the boards of multiple current investments like Omega Healthcare, Apexon, Innoveo, Everlife, Translumina, Cprime, and MediaMint, having also been involved with past investments such as Sahyadri Hospitals, Servion, and Acqueon among others.
Dhanpal Jhaveri
Dhanpal Jhaveri is Vice Chairman Everstone and CEO EverSource (a partnership between Lightsource BP and Everstone), Everstone’s Climate Impact business. Before Everstone, Dhanpal was Director of Corporate Strategy at Vedanta Resources, Head of Investment Banking at ICICI Securities and Partner at KPMG, one of the Big Four auditors. Dhanpal has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.
Rajesh Jaggi
Rajesh Jaggi is Vice Chairman of Everstone’s Real Estate business+. Prior to joining Everstone, Rajesh was the Managing Director of a USD 400-million listed real estate company, where he led the successful commissioning of projects that totaled 28 million square feet of real estate across residential, commercial and retail space. Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai and a Master of Business Management and Finance from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College in Boston.
Shailesh Shirali
Shailesh Shirali is Vice Chairman and heads Special Sits vertical at Everstone. Shailesh is based in Mumbai, India. Before moving to Everstone in July 2020, , Shailesh headed the Wholesale Credit business at Everstone investee companies Indostar Capital and Future Capital where he successfully started and built a very profitable high yield credit business. Before this, Shailesh headed the Wholesale Credit and Structured Finance business at Merrill Lynch and Rabobank India. Shailesh started his career at ICICI in 1993 where he was the founder member of the Credit Risk Department. Shailesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Vinod Kumar
Vinod Kumar is Vice Chairman Everstone, CEO EverYondr and an Operating Partner for our Private Equity activities. Vinod has extensive experience in telecom, digital infrastructure and cloud services, having led several global firms, including his previous roles as CEO of Vodafone Business and CEO of Tata Communications. Vinod has a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has served on the Board of the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Human Capital Leadership Institute.
Amit Manocha
Amit Manocha is a Group CFO and MD, Private Equity. Amit is based in Singapore and is responsible for leading deal teams in consumer sectors (including QSR within the food & beverage sector) across India and Southeast Asia. With more than 23 years of experience in private equity, corporate finance and financial management, he works closely with the co-founder and CEO on various investment and strategic matters. Prior, he worked with Coca-Cola, GE Capital, and HCL Technologies. Amit holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Prashant Desai
Prashant Desai is Senior Advisor at Everstone Capital and is currently seconded to Burger King India as head of strategy and investor relations. He has over 25 years of business experience in both creating and running businesses. In 2017, Prashant co-founded an exciting ‘made in India’ technology-led sports brand called D:FY. Prior to creating D:FY, Prashant worked with the Future Group, Rare Enterprises and was also the CEO & MD of Financial Technologies, a promoter of MCX, IEX, DGCG, SGX and MSEI exchanges. He is a Chartered Accountant and an all-India fourth ranked Cost & Works Accountant.
Pratibha Jain
Pratibha Jain is Head of Strategy, Group General Counsel and a member of the Management Committee at Everstone. In addition to overseeing all legal matters across the Group, Pratibha also leads strategy for the Group. Before joining Everstone, Pratibha was a Partner at Nishith Desai Associates, where she founded their New Delhi office and led their Funds and Regulatory practice. She has over two decades of international and Indian experience and has worked with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong, with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP in Hong Kong, and with Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and Mumbai. Pratibha holds a Master of Laws from the Harvard University, a Bachelor of Civil Laws from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi. She heads the Regulatory Committee of IVCA and is Co- Head of the American Bar Association’s India Committee.
Rajesh Mehta
Rajesh Mehta is Managing Director and Chief Business Officer, India. He is based in Mumbai. Rajesh has over 25 years of experience working with renowned global and Indian companies, including Ashmore Group, Tata Sons, HSBC, and KPMG. Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai and has completed an advanced programme in management at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He is also a certified Chartered Accountant.
Roshini Bakshi
Roshini Bakshi is Managing Director and Head Impact at Everstone and based in Singapore. Roshini is responsible for evaluating new opportunities in the consumer space , and leads operational improvements for Everstone’s portfolio companies, specifically around talent management and brand transformation. Roshini also heads Impact and Responsible Investing for Everstone. Before joining Everstone, Roshini was the CEO and Managing Director at the Walt Disney Company, South Asia. Roshini has also worked with Unilever, American Express, Prudential, Mattel and Polaris in sales and marketing roles across India and the UK. She currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Persistent Systems Ltd and JM Financial Services Ltd in India. Roshini holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, with a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Sanjoy Chatterjee
Sanjoy Chatterjee is Global Head of Business Development and President of Americas. He is based in Singapore, Prior to joining Everstone, Sanjoy worked in the United States as an independent consultant, leading business development efforts for CellNet Data Systems. He also spent four years as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company – gaining significant experience in the consumer, energy, and entertainment sectors. Sanjoy holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Alok Oberoi
